DV visa lottery program run by the American Government requires a recently taken color image file of each applicant to be uploaded along with the E-DV application form when applying for the USA visa lottery online.
If you are interested in buying a new digital camera to take photos of you, your family and friends for applying the diversity visa lottery, take care to read the following instructions.
Select a camera in which you can directly select the pixel size of the image to 600 pixels high by 600 pixels wide. 600 x 600 pixels is the image size according to the DV Lottery instructions.
So you can use the image with out any editing work. The image file can be uploaded with the entry form if the image size is less than 62,500 bytes.
Most of the Japanese and US camera manufactures have the above size selection directly in the menu.
At the store or online shop first read the specification of that digital camera whether it got the required size setting.
Some of the available models don't have the 600 pix X 600 pix setup in their menu.
Also don't forget to buy memory cards like SD memory and so on. They will help you to take many photos on the go, if you have many people to take photo. Some new cameras don't have big amount of memory space for your need.
Don't forget to get the Program CD and the downloading cable which will help you to download the taken images from your Digital camera to your PC or Laptop.
Green card lottery requires new photos that has been taken recently. Winning the greencard lottery also depends on the digital image too. If the submitted images don't meet the required quality and setting of the green card lottery, your application form will be rejected with out any notice to you.
