DV 2010 visa lottery requires recently taken color image file of each applicant to be uploaded along with the entry form when applying for the visa lottery online. There are new rules announced regarding the DV2010 photos.

Also don't forget to buy memory cards like SD memory and so on. They will help you to take many photos on the go, if you have many people to take photo. Some new cameras don't have big amount of memory space for your need. Don't forget to get the Program cd and the downloading cable which will help you to download the taken images from your Digital camera to your PC or Laptop.
Taking a digital image is best idea other wise you gave to scan a 4" X 4" Photo Paper to get the required image file.
